WINDOWS XP SP2 CONFLICTSMONDAY, AUGUST 16 2004 @ 12:10 PMMicrosoft has published Knowledge Base article, with a list of nearly 50 programs and games that may not work properly after installing SP2. Amazingly, but not suprising, many of the titles in the list are theirs, and include Visual Studio and SQL Server. Also, ColdFusion MX is mentioned as one of the affected programs.

Anyway...
BEMBINODECEMBER 3 2004 @ 11:13 PMI have tried installing it twice now. It installs fine but then other things break, so I removed it and refuse to install it.
The first time I installed it I had issues installing new programs that used the Installshield Wizard. Then the second time it somehow messed up my Internet connection OSCAR TRELLESDECEMBER 4 2004 @ 09:01 AMI hear you. I only installed SP2 in my newest computer, as I was configuring a new system from scratch, and I haven't had any problems. However, I won't install SP2 on my other machines because I'm afraid it would mess up my stuff, as you describe.
I don't know if you reformat your disks on a regular basis (I do it every 6 months), but I would wait until then to install SP2 in a workstation. |
