I was lucky enough to try it myself this year over at siggraph. I was talking to the guys involved in that project and as cool as it looks it has the big drawback that it offers no haptic feedback, and it takes a while to get used to. you definitivelly type slower than on a physisical keyboard (I think they where showing test results being an average of 40-50% slower) and you are more prone to misstyping, but it's an excellent solution for mobile media, where constrains are obvious.
Though they do not intend this to replace a physical keyboard by any means, Canesta, the company behind that keyboard is more focused on selling the system to cell-phone carries and mobile media manufacturers, rather than the product that you see there. more info over here: http://www.canesta.com/ VISWANATH GONDIOCTOBER 24 2003 @ 12:35 AMIf you want more info on the projection keyboards, Micha Alpern has some. http://www.alpern.org/weblog/stories/2003/01/09/projectionKeyboards.html
