This is Crazy…

It seems like we are going to have patent issues forever… one of these days they’re gonna patent the way you speak. Seriously, how can people be so stupid?

The link leads to an article in ‘The Register’, that covers what has to be the most ridiculous set of patents ever, after the Eolas issue. According to it, SightSound, a company based in Mount Lebanon (PA), may own the rights to video and audio transference through a telecommunications channel. According to SightSound’s ‘About Us’ page, they are “(…) a six-year-old video and audio download and file-share electronic commerce company supporting the motion picture and music industries as they adopt digital distribution”, and it looks like giving support an extreme meaning.

According to their patents, SightSound holds the rights to any way of transferring digital media, including streaming and download of audio and video file formats. Again, how can you possible patent that?
